Conductor Required for Gaelic Junior Choir
(CÒISIR ÒG BUN-SGOIL GHÀIDHLIG INBHIR NIS)
Còisir Òg Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis is a new youth choir formed by the amalgamation of Còisir Òg Inbhir Nis, an established junior Gaelic choir and the Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis school choir.
This choir will compete at local and national mods. The children already receive support from the teaching staff of BSGI and the choir is administrated by an enthusiastic committee of parents.
We are currently looking for a conductor for this new choir. We see this as a wonderful opportunity for the right individual to conduct a choir from the flagship Gaelic-medium school in Inverness.
Much help and support will be given by the committee and the school and this is very much a joint endeavour. The commitment presently anticipated would be attendance at rehearsal on Saturday mornings (10-12 at BSGI) during term-time with if possible occasional liaison with school staff during the school day. Occasional attendance at competitions and performances would also be required. It is not essential that the conductor attends all Saturday rehearsals. As the choir is conducted through the medium of Gaelic, the conductor must be a fluent Gaelic speaker.
